Thick with needles

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

In Alas Babylon, Mark Bragg says that four enemy submarines were found where there should not have been any. He says looking for submarines is like looking for a needle in a haystack, but if you shake a haystack and four needles fall out, “chances are that haystack is just thick with needles.”

I can’t imagine why that quote came back to me as the fifth ACORN video came out last night.

Media continue to ignore ACORN scandal

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Wow. Just … wow.

Hannah and James continue the death of a thousand cuts on ACORN, with their latest showing an ACORN employee bragging about killing her husband and stating that she will murder another man if he talks about the proposed underage brothel. Of course, he was helpful too — he suggested that they disguise the brothel as a school so as to account for all the underage hookers.

Fox News is reporting it, of course, with links to the video.

And CNN? And MSNBC? And ABC? And CBS? (*crickets*) Not a word. Not a hint. The Census Bureau dumped ACORN. The Senate voted 83-7 to deprive ACORN of HUD money so they can’t use it for more underage brothels. The House may vote likewise. And if you get your news from the Alphabets, you have no clue that The One’s favorite community organizers are up to their eyebrows in crime.

ACORN should quit while they’re behind

O’Keefe and Giles got another ACORN office.

Once is bad luck and twice is coincidence, but three times is enemy action. ACORN is the enemy.

News on ACORN

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

ACORN, The One’s favorite community organizers, has been in the news lately. Well, more specifically, ACORN has been on Fox News lately. A couple of young reporters, not affiliated with any news organization, entered (at least) two ACORN offices claiming have a problem: she was a prostitute and he was her boyfriend who had political ambitions. They were having trouble getting funding to buy a house for a brothel, plus they were concerned about how to deal with taxes.

The ACORN employees in Baltimore enthusiastically threw themselves into the problem of hiding income and obtaining funding for the brothel. The “prostitute” then disclosed that she had ambitions of becoming a madam; in fact, she already had a plan under way to import thirteen El Salvadoran girls, well under the age of consent, to be child prostitutes. The ACORN employee thought that was a great idea, pointed out that as illegal aliens they couldn’t have social security numbers, needn’t report any income, and “don’t exist” for governmental purposes, although they could be claimed as dependents so the madam would both get untaxed and illegal income from their degradation, and save taxes on what income she did report.

In other words, the ACORN employees happily threw themselves into a plot to bring in children illegally as sex slaves to be rented out to pedophiles. And they did it without hesitation, which suggests to me, at least, that they have ample experience with such requests.

After the second video came out, showing that ACORN employees in D.C. were similarly unencumbered by notions of conscience, law, human rights, or simple compassion for enslaved children, the Census bureau decided perhaps it was not a good idea to enable these thugs to go around demanding personal information from people at gunpoint. (Well, what else do you call it? “Answer these questions or the Feds will kick in your door and haul you off to be raped and tortured in prison.”)

How was this reported? (I only know about the Internet aspect of the news, since I don’t watch television or listen to the radio.) As of this morning:

  • Fox News has been reporting it straight, including prominent links to the videos. If you read FoxNews, you know exactly what ACORN has been up to (that we know of), and why the Census bureau decided not to enable these thugs.
  • CNN has nothing — absolutely nothing — about the latest news on The One’s favorite community organizers. If you read CNN, you have no idea even that the Census bureau has dumped them.
  • MSNBC reports that the Census bureau has dumped them. In a twelve paragraph report, the videos are mentioned in the eleventh paragraph. The only information given about the content of the videos was that the so-called tax preparer advised the “prostitute” to claim her profession as “performing artist”. There was nothing about her advice on how to profit from under-age illegal aliens imported as sex slaves.

I should note that enormous sums of money are specifically earmarked for ACORN, and ACORN alone, in the so-called stimulus bill. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to know that my tax dollars are going to these people.
